Closure: A long time store in Square One permanently closes in Mississauga

A Bulk Barn location has closed in Mississauga.

The Bulk Barn in Square One Shopping Centre has permanently closed. A call to the shopping centre confirmed they closed yesterday (Oct. 25) and Google has the shop marked permanently closed.

It is not clear why the shop closed or if they will open in another location in or near the mall.

Attempts to reach Bulk Barn or a spokesperson for Square One went unanswered today.

The Bulk Barn, Canada’s largest bulk foods retailer, was founded in September 1982.

The store had been in Square One for many years and had moved locations after the mall was renovated in 2013.

Several people lamented the loss of the store in a post on Reddit.

“No way, truly will be missed,” one person wrote.

“It was in a pretty convenient place too, just beside Walmart, sad to see it go but i’m curious to see what they’ll replace it with,” another person said.

There is no word yet on what might move into the location.
