Cheapest flights and best day to fly for a Labour Day weekend getaway from Toronto

Summer is nearly over, but there is still time to plan a quick getaway.
For those on tight budgets, a domestic destination and a cheap flight could be a ticket to one more summer adventure.
Domestic destinations are more popular with Canadian travellers for Labour Day weekend this year than last year, with more than a 19 per cent increase in searches for flights in Canada, according to a press release from travel search engine Kayak.
Kayak rounded up the best deals for top Canadian destinations.

All prices are average prices for economy, round-trip tickets. Prices may vary, percentages for changes in searches are approximate.
For those who prefer a road trip, Kayak is showing a 23 per cent increase in searches for domestic rental cars this year compared to last year. The cheapest domestic locations for car rentals appear to be Toronto and Victoria, while international travellers may get a deal in Lisbon, Dublin or Rome.
The cheapest day to fly domestically is Friday, Aug. 29, with an average airfare of $352, according to Kayak. Airfare on Saturday is only slightly higher, at $354 on average.
