A restaurant that lost their location to a fire has announced they’re now finally putting roots down in a new home.
Stop Restaurant mainly serves Eastern-European-influenced food complemented by a curated wine selection, but hasn’t been able to do that at their Dundas West location since a devastating fire last year.
In the many months since then, the restaurant community has banded together around Stop, providing space in their own places for them to do pop-ups in order to survive. Over that time, Stop has popped up at places like Doc’s Green Door Lounge, 222 Bar, Imanishi and Soos, serving items like pierogies, Caesar salad, savoury crepes, salmon rillette and even rib eye with caviar.
After a very, very long wait Stop finally has a home again.
“We moved!” reads the excited caption of an Instagram post from Stop. “Ecstatic to take over the wonderful space and make it home! 7 months after the fire we have a restaurant.”
Stop is taking over the former Ding-a-Wing space at 397 Roncesvalles, with the fried chicken project moving to 171 College Street and also opening up at Stackt Market.
Stop tells YourCityWithIN the menu at the new spot should stay similar to what they’ve served in the past, and that they’re aiming to open around June 1.
