Toronto named as top city for nightlife based on rideshare stats

Toronto keeps its spot on the list of the hardest partying cities in the country.

New information passed down from the rideshare app Uber, and their Nightlife Index, the platform was able to calculate which municipality in Canada had riders spending the most time going from bar to bar.

Based on rideshare stats alone, Toronto has ranked fourth in terms of national party capitals — dethroned from its number one spot in 2024.

London, ON, based on the data, is using rideshares to head out to parties every weekend more than anywhere else in Canada, earning it first place.

The full list is as follows:

  1.   London, ON
  2.   Winnipeg
  3.   Saskatoon
  4.   Toronto
  5.   Regina
  6.   Windsor
  7.   St. John’s
  8.   Halifax
  9.   Vancouver
  10. Edmonton

However, Toronto does take home gold in one account, and that is flashiness, as data showed that this city has the highest use of the premium ride services, such as Uber Black and Uber Premier, than any other city in the country.

Based on volume of rideshare use between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. alone, according to Uber, the most party-dense neighborhoods in Toronto are King Street West, the Entertainment District,  Harbourfront, West Queen West, and Little Italy.

As for other areas in the GTA that see an uptick in nighttime and nightlife traffic, Mississauga, Vaughan, and Markham.

After the night is over, Uber Eats data also shows that, when it comes to the morning after, top orders on Saturday and Sunday mornings are coffee, hashbrowns, bagels, breakfast wraps, and iced coffee.

As for the biggest nights out in Canada, Uber has revealed that New Year’s, Halloween weekend, the holiday party season of December, St. Patrick’s, and the Calgary Stampede take the top spot for traffic density.
