A super popular sandwich shop in Toronto that’s known for selling out on the regular is expanding its reach so even more people can try their creations.
Bear Steak Sandwiches specializes in steak sammies and started out in 2021 as a backyard pop-up with an extremely limited menu, but they’ve grown to open a physical store and are now onto their second location.
The sandwiches are known for being big and meaty and are served with a signature house chimichurri, but Bear has become equally known for their collabs with other restaurants from pizzerias to Thai spots.
“Our first location showed us just how hungry Toronto is for food that’s bold, creative, and made with intention,” said Aki Erenberg, co-founder of BEAR Steak Sandwiches, in a release.
“We’ve always kept the menu simple on purpose. When you focus on doing one thing really well, people notice. This second location isn’t just about growth; it’s about pushing our creativity, collaborating with local talent, and becoming part of more people’s everyday routines. We want BEAR to be more than a meal – it’s a way to connect with the city and the people in it.”
“With food in Toronto, it’s never just about the meal – it’s about who you’re with, the story behind it, and how it brings people together,” said co-founder Ricardo Barrientos in a release.
“We’ve been lucky to collaborate with incredible chefs, artists, and influencers who elevate the experience. This next chapter gives us even more space to push our creativity and make what we do more accessible to everyone.”
The new location of Bear Steak Sandwiches will be opening at Wellington Market inside The Well. They’ll be joining a host of other popular businesses at the food hall like Bagels on Fire, Gus Tacos, Rosie’s Burgers and Blue Claw, and the food hall also has a bar where you can wash down your steak sandwich with a drink.
Bear’s new spot should be opening on July 14.
