A mysterious new restaurant serving contemporary Italian cuisine is gearing up to open its doors soon in Toronto.

Cassius Cucina Contemporanea is a stylish new spot opening in a high traffic area. Their social media has an Old Hollywood vibe with lots of animal print, pasta, wine and tables set with crystal and fine china.

Other than that, the restaurant has not revealed too much to the public about what their space and menu might be like, although it’s safe to assume Italian classics will be on the menu. Dishes might include options like seafood or pappardella ripiena, a kind of stuffed pasta.

We can only hope they’ll also have a world class wine list. Cassius should be serving signature cocktails with an emphasis on options like Negronis and traditional Italian favourites like vermouths and digestivos, and bottle service will also be available. Cassius will also function as a high energy nightlife environment, so the drinks should be flowing when they open.

The busy King West address where Cassius will be located should also be home to an upstairs art gallery and a bespoke tailor called Sartoria.

Cassius Cucina Contemporanea at 624 King St. W. should be opening on April 17.
