Diners who enjoy sports, cocktails and the “energy of a classic steakhouse and the comfort of Italian-American dining” might be happy to hear that a new restaurant offering all three is set to open its doors very soon.
Today, Harlo Entertainment, the hospitality company behind such Toronto restaurants as Kasa Moto, Roses Social and Valerie, announced that The Playbook Commons will be opening on the ground floor of Hotel X (111 Princes’ Blvd) tomorrow.
According to a news release, the restaurant–Harlo’s third in the Hyatt-operated hotel–will offer 180 seats, ample screens showing sporting events and races and a decadent menu that boasts several cuts of steak.
“Reimagining the sports-viewing experience, the restaurant blends elevated dining with spirited camaraderie—serving timeless dishes and drinks while screening games, races and more,” the restaurant group said in a news release.
“With a great view from every seat in the house, each guest will enjoy an immersive viewing experience as they dine.”
Led by culinary director and Head Chef Jia Zou, the restaurant boasts a menu featuring a bone-in filet, branzino crudo, spicy vodka rigatoni, truffle tagliatelle, New Zealand lamb chops, sweet corn arancini, swordfish Meunière, and more.
“We focus on fresh, quality ingredients and traditional techniques, with a bit of fun in the mix,” Jia Zou said in the news release.
“Our goal is simple — to serve food that brings people together. Whether it’s a casual bite or a special night out, we want guests to enjoy the experience and feel at home.”
The menu also features a range of cocktails, wine and beer.
As far as atmosphere goes, the restaurant will exclusively exhibit Ryan Koopmans and Alice Wexell’s latest digital artwork series, ‘The Wild Within.’
The Playbook Commons will also offer patrons multiple private hosting spaces, including The Garden Bar and The Lounge, as well as full buyout options.
The restaurant will officially open on May 29.
