Restaurants that closed in May in Toronto will be missed as we move on without them this summer. However, some of them are already transforming into something new and exciting.
This Little Italy restaurant serving small plates and cocktails unfortunately didn’t last too long, but as it closed down this month, an announcement came that there are already plans to replace it. The space will soon become Sal’s Kitchen, an Italian restaurant run by the same people behind Lucia.
This business shut down their food stall at Hangout Street Market during the month of May, but they’re still operating without a physical location if you find yourself hungering for some delicious tamales.
Liberty Village lost their location of this healthy salad and bowl spot this past month, but the space where it used to be is already becoming home to something new. Thindi will be moving into the address, serving Indian food like dosa, idli and street-food-style grilled cheese sandwiches.
Travel-themed parties at this lively John Street restaurant are no more as they abruptly announced their immediate closure near the end of the month.
