Diners will soon bid farewell to brunch at one of the city’s trendiest Thai restaurants.
Today, Kiin, a Michelin Guide-recognized restaurant in Toronto’s Entertainment District that specializes in a higher-end Royal Thai-inspired dining experience, announced that it will end its brunch service in early October.
In a post shared on social media, operators said they decided to move away from brunch to “refocus and dedicate more energy and attention to enhancing dinner service.”
The restaurant’s dinner menu includes both 12 and seven-course tasting menus.
As of now, the brunch menu features Thai flower dumplings, deep-fried chicken wings, Thai chicken curry puffs, Thai rice noodle soup, Thai pan-fried eggs, rice porridge, grilled pork jowl red curry and more.
The last brunch service will be held on Oct. 5 and 6.
“We’ve loved serving you some of our favourite Thai brunch dishes and introducing you to some lesser-known gems, including the Shrimp Paste Fried Rice (Khao Kluck Kapi) and Khai Kratha,” the restaurant wrote on social media.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who has joined us for brunch over the last year and a half and for all the support you’ve shown.”
In the post, the resto said that some brunch dishes could make their way onto the menus at Kiin’s sister restaurants. Kiin, owned by acclaimed Chef Nuit Regular and her husband, Jeff, is part of a group of Thai restos that includes PAI Northern Thai Kitchen, Sabai Sabai and Sukho Thai.
Reservations for Kiin’s final brunch are open.
