A food festival with over 40 vendors over 15 types of cuisine is coming up this month in Toronto. It’s totally dog-friendly, and highlights female and BIPOC business owners.

Feastie will have food, cocktails and live entertainment. Cuisines will include Italian, Japanese, Filipino, Caribbean and Thai, and there will be local beer and wine to drink as well as cocktails.

It’s the brainchild of Evelyn Chick, who’s also behind Toronto restaurant Simpl Things. Having just launched in 2024, Feastie is now in its second year.

Simpl Things will be participating in the festival, serving up a crispy chicken sando on fluffy bread as well as thick slices of syrupy French toast.

Bashy Patties will also be present, serving patties in beef, bold jerk chicken and coconut curry chickpea varieties.

Tita Flips will be bringing the Filipino representation with a dish called kwek-kwek, quail eggs fried in a crispy and flavourful annatto batter and served with a delightfully tangy spiced vinegar.

If you have a sweet tooth, there’s something fun for you to try, too. Bear Pung will be serving a Thai dessert called khanom chan, a steamed coconut layered cake that’s very jiggly and chewy and is presented in the shape of a beautiful, colourful flower.

Other businesses present at Feastie will include Paradise Grapevine, 4 Real Juice Co., Maker Matcha, and Truffles & Circumstance, which makes olive oil, ranch, hot ranch, hot sauce and hot honey, all infused with luxurious black truffle. Sponsors should also be handing out free drink samples throughout the festival.

Tickets start at $11.98 and include a drink token, a souvenir cup, a photo booth opportunity and access to cocktail classes.

Feastie will take place on July 19 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Henderson Brewing.
