A massive internet nostalgia dance party is happening in Toronto

A massive nostalgia-fueled rave is coming to Toronto this week.
Supermarket, a Kensignton Market staple, is hosting a one-night-only tribute to Club Penguin with a massive EDM dance party.
For the uninitiated, Club Penguin was a browser-based social media platform that ran from 2005 to 2017.
Beloved by those under the late-stage Gen Z and early Millennial umbrella, the Disney-owned browser application featured customizable penguin avatars, interactive games, and social spaces where like-minded digital flightless birds could mingle and interact, pre-dating the social media boom that came after.

While this snapshot in internet history may be gone forever, Supermarket is calling upon all those who remember it fondly to come by their location this Friday, May 30, in their finest Club Penguin-inspired attire.
With a surprise DJ to be announced later this week, Supermarket promises that this upcoming event will “tip the iceberg,” as shared on their social media posts.
